Delete Your OptimalFit Account

Last updated October 18, 2026

You can delete your OptimalFit account, and the data that belongs to it, at any time, right from the app. Deletion is permanent — there is no recovery window and no way for us to restore an account once it is gone.

This page explains how to do it from inside the app, how to ask us to do it if you can no longer sign in, and exactly what is removed.

Delete your account from the app

This is the fastest route and it takes effect immediately.

  • Open OptimalFit and sign in.
  • Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner to open your Profile.
  • Tap Account.
  • Scroll to Danger Zone and tap Delete Account.
  • Read what will be removed, type DELETE to confirm, and tap Delete My Account.

If you cannot sign in

Email support@optimalfit.com from the address on your account with the subject "Delete my account". We verify that the request comes from the account holder, then aim to complete the deletion within seven business days of that verification — sooner where the law requires it. We confirm when it is done. You do not need to cancel a subscription first.

If you sign in with Apple or Google and no longer have access to that address, tell us the email you used and any detail that helps us identify the account. We may ask for more information before deleting anything — an unverified deletion request is a way to attack someone else’s account, so we would rather be slow than wrong.

What is deleted

All of the following is deleted outright when your account is deleted:

  • Your account and sign-in credentials.
  • Your profile: name, username, avatar, date of birth, biological sex, height, and every goal and preference you set during onboarding.
  • Your training data: programs, plans, workout history, logged sets, reps, weights and durations.
  • Your body measurements, including any weight, body-fat, lean-mass, energy or step values imported from Apple Health or Health Connect.
  • Your nutrition data: logged meals and foods, meal photos, scanned barcodes, and your nutrition plan and targets.
  • Your cycle-tracking data, if you turned that feature on.
  • Your conversations with Olli, including the stored transcripts.
  • Your community posts, comments, likes, follows and shared photos.
  • Every file you uploaded: profile picture, progress photos, meal photos and recipe images.
  • Your push-notification tokens, so the app can no longer reach your devices.

What is kept, and why

One category of data survives deletion, in a form that is no longer linked to you.

We keep a record of how much our AI features cost to run: which route was called, which model answered, how many tokens it used and how long it took. Your user id is removed from these rows, and they contain none of your text, your photos or your training data. We keep them because they are our billing and capacity history, and deleting them would leave holes in accounting for months that have already been paid for.

The diagnostic traces that record what our AI coach was asked and what it generated are redacted as part of your deletion: the structure of the trace is kept so we can still measure how often the system misbehaves, but your text and your generated plans are removed from it.

Backups roll off on our database provider’s retention schedule. A deleted account may persist in an encrypted backup until that backup expires; it is not restored to the live system and is not accessible to us as an account.

If we are required by law to retain something — an open legal claim, for instance — we will keep only what the law requires, for only as long as it requires.

Subscriptions

If you have a paid subscription, deleting your OptimalFit account does not cancel it. Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by us, and only they can cancel one. Cancel it first, in the App Store or Google Play subscription settings on your device, then delete your account. Deleting the account without cancelling will leave you paying for an app you can no longer sign in to.

Account deletion, disconnecting Apple Health or Health Connect, opting out of marketing, and cancelling a subscription are four separate actions. Uninstalling the app does none of them.

How long it takes

Deletion from the app is immediate: the account is gone before the app returns you to the sign-in screen, and you will not be able to sign in again. A request sent by email is completed within seven business days of identity verification. Backup copies expire within seven calendar days after that.

Separately, if your subscription expires and is not renewed, we keep your account for three months so you can come back, and email you seven days and three days before it is deleted. Re-subscribing before the deadline cancels the scheduled deletion.

Questions

Write to support@optimalfit.com. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to ask what we hold about you and to receive a copy of it before you delete it.

If you joined the OptimalFit waitlist before launch, that sign-up is separate from an app account. To have it removed, write to support@optimalfit.com.
